AMSpec is one of the first companies that developed the technology to produce the hot metal gas forming (HMGF) and double-butted tubes of magnesium alloys. Fig. 2 shows a car contour with letters formed from a circular tube of magnesium alloy through tubes HMGF technology. It demonstrates the beauty of superplasticity to achieve the net shape forming of final part. This technology will produce parts with excellent surface finish, and high dimensional precision. Fig. 3 shows the double-butted tube of high strength magnesium alloy. It will further reduce the weight of the magnesium alloy tube for application in lightweight structures.
